Weather report from north London: Looking good for Arsenal v Bolton

A QUICK note to say that in my neck of the north London woods (which is roughly at the same altitude as the Emirates), the snow does not yet appear to have caused much trouble.

Just before midnight it was bucketing it down and settling. But then it must have stopped. And temperatures seem to have risen too. In fact the snow that is currently falling is more like sleet and may even be melting the stuff on the ground if anything.

The forecast is for snow throughout the day. If it continues as it is, we should be fine. If the temperature drops again we may not be. This picture just posted on Twitter by Highbury Note suggests, as I expected, it’s a similar situation at the Grove.

The issue, of course, is not the pitch which is heated. It is whether transport holds up and pavements are icy.

And of course we’re reliant on Bolton making it down south too.

  1. It kept me awake last night wondering whether NotLob would make it down. I just hope they do and we stuff em…

  5. If the rumours have any truth in them, would it be wrong to want Niklas to fail the fitness test so AW is forced to buy Cole? Striker wouldn’t be my top priority, but it seems to be the manager’s.

  7. As a season ticket holder living in the Midlands. I doubt I’ll be able to get there so I’m not optimistic about the cloggers from Lancashire. If they do make it, give an extra cheer for me when the fifth goal goes in!!

  17. I live in the building next to the stadium. When I left this morning, they’d done a good job in clearing the snow immediately near the turnstiles, but the steps and the area around the Armoury are pretty icy. The Piccadilly Line is part suspended too, so that might influence any decision. Fingers crossed!

  23. Played for arsenal when I was younger any way I now work as a plumber for Netplumb we have to get out there and help the general public, but I have sympathy for those who are not going out. If you don’t need to drive don’t.
